Queen - I Want It All
I Want It All by Queen, Music Video, Lyrics and Review
“I Want It All” is a song by the British rock band Queen. It is the fourth track on the album The Miracle and was written by guitarist Brian May (who briefly takes over lead vocals), but credited to all four members of the band.
Queen - I Want It All Lyrics
Adventure seeker on an empty street,
Just an alley creeper, light on his feet
A young fighter screaming, with no time for doubt
With the pain and anger can’t see a way out,
It ain’t much I’m asking, I heard him say,
Gotta find me a future move out of my way,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
Listen all you people, come gather round
I gotta get me a game plan, gotta shake you to the ground
Just give me what I know is mine,
People do you hear me, just give me the sign,
It ain’t much I’m asking, if you want the truth
Here’s to the future for the dreams of youth,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
I’m a man with a one track mind,
So much to do in one life time (people do you hear me)
Not a man for compromise and where’s and why’s and living lies
So I’m living it all, yes I’m living it all,
And I’m giving it all, and I’m giving it all,
It ain’t much I’m asking, if you want the truth,
Here’s to the future, hear the cry of youth,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
etc.
Queen - I Want It All Review and Song Info
“I Want It All” is one of the band’s most well-known and popular songs. It was one of a few hard rock songs that were successful in 1989, as by this date pop music by artists and groups such as Kylie Minogue and The Bangles were firmly established as the most favoured genres of music, and it was becoming increasingly rare for even the most established and famous rock acts to achieve strong sales in the music charts.
The single release is significantly different from the album track, shortening the length of May’s solo. The guitar intro was also replaced by an a cappella version of the chorus. The Queen Rocks version combines both versions together, including the single version intro but the longer, album version guitar solo.
The music video for “I Want It All” was a straight performance video, with the band, all dressed smartly in black trousers and white shirts (with drummer Roger Taylor wearing a leather jacket, with his other band’s single, The Manipulator on it) playing the song on a stage in a warehouse.
