East 17 - Stay Another Day
Stay Another Day by East 17, Music Video, Lyrics and Review
“Stay Another Day†was British boy band East 17’s first (and only) UK number-one, released in 1994.
“Stay Another Day†was the second single from East 17’s second album Steam. It was their first ballad, written by the band’s lead singer Tony Mortimer about his brother Ollie, who died of cancer. Mortimer was aided in the composition by his co-manager Rob Kean and songwriter Dominic Hawken, who had once been Boy George’s keyboard player.
The song included Christmas bells towards the end of the song to give it a Christmassy feel and appeal to the lucrative Christmas singles market. In 2002, the song was covered by Girls Aloud as the B-side to their debut single “Sound of the Undergroundâ€.
The song is absolutely bloody brilliant, one of my all time favourite song, and the video is lovely, enjoy !

East 17 - Stay Another Day Lyrics
Chorus:
Baby if you’ve got to go away
I don’t think
I can take the pain
Won’t you stay another day
Oh, don’t leave me alone like this
Don’t say it’s the final kiss
Won’t you stay another day
Don’t you know
We’ve come too far now
Just to go
And try to throw it all away
Thought I heard you say
You love me
That your love was gonna be here to stay
I’ve only just begun
To know you
All I can say is
Won’t you stay just one more day
Chorus:
Baby if you’ve got to go away
I don’t think
I can take the pain
Won’t you stay another day
Oh, don’t leave me alone like this
Don’t say it’s the final kiss
Won’t you stay another day
I touch your face while you are sleeping
And hold your hand
Don’t understand what’s going on
Good times we had return
To haunt me
Though it’s for you
All that I do seem to be wrong
Chorus:
Baby if you’ve got to go away
I don’t think
I can take the pain
Won’t you stay another day
Oh, don’t leave me alone like this
Don’t say it’s the final kiss
Won’t you stay another day
